Meet Carmen de la Vega, Associate

I am 68 years old and have a degree in education. I would like to share with you my experience as an Associate in the SNJM Congregation.

I don’t remember exactly when I joined the group of Associates, but I must tell you that it is one of the best experiences I have had in my life. Sister Ana Maria Vilca, whom I met years ago at Caritas Chosica, invited me to participate in this wonderful group. For a long time, I have been in the community of the San Benito parish as a Catechist in the Pastoral of Baptism and also in the Social Pastoral as a Prevention Promoter of Family Violence, an activity that I continue. My experience as an Associate is very emotional and rewarding. I met great people that today I consider my sisters.

The spirituality of Mother Maria Rosa has greatly impacted me. Her dedication and service inspire and motivate me to take on new challenges, which is why I decided to renew my commitment as a SNJM Associate. Knowing that I am part of a family consecrated to love, charity, respect and prayer, and feeling the warmth of true family in this group, makes me extremely happy, comforted and supported. In the difficult moments that I had to live, the SNJM charism and spirituality gave me the strength to go on.

I feel happy as an Associate of the SNJM Congregation. They are my spiritual family that allows me to be a better person every day.
