Beneficiary Designations

Creating a legacy gift to the Sisters of the Holy Names is easy to do with a beneficiary designation.

Just name the Sisters of the Holy Names as a beneficiary for assets such as retirement plans, life insurance policies and IRAs.

Charitable beneficiaries receive your gift without taxation, where individual beneficiaries will be taxed at their full tax rate at the time the gift is received.  They are an easy and flexible way to give. You simply fill out a form that is entirely separate from your will.  You aren’t locked into the choices you make today. You can review and adjust beneficiary designations anytime you want.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs): You can recommend a grant from your DAF to the Sisters of the Holy Names by contacting your fund manager.  Through your charitable giving account, you can name the Sisters of the Holy Names as the beneficiary of your DAF.

Appreciated Stock or Securities: Donating appreciated securities (stocks, mutual funds, or bonds you’ve held for more than a year) can be more tax-efficient than a cash gift. You avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation and receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value.
