Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher

“Since we walk along the same path, let us extend a hand to one another.”
Marie-Rose Durocher (1811-1849) founded the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in Longueuil, Quebec, in 1843. She was beatified as Blessed Marie-Rose by Pope John Paul II on May 23, 1982.
The Sisters of the Holy Names live the spirit and charism of Mother Marie-Rose. Her compelling desire to educate the poor, to empower struggling women spiritually and intellectually, and to enable those within her influence to develop their full potential are distinctive characteristics of the Sisters of the Holy Names.
We celebrate the Feast of Blessed Marie-Rose each year on October 6.

Blessed Marie Rose, obtain for us today
The audacity of Faith
The simplicity of Hope
The power of Love
That we may actualize the words of Jesus:
I have come to cast fire upon the earth,
And would that it were already kindled.
