Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving for the life of Sister Grayce Ross. Grayce was 82 years old and was a vowed member of our community since 1966.
Grayce had a wide range of ministry experiences. She taught junior high students during the late ’60s and early ’70s and later worked at Holy Names College as both faculty and administrative staff. Grayce was a skilled administrator. She also spent many years working in seminaries and parishes in California as an office manager.
In 1993 she moved to Boise, where she served as the Director of the Diocesan Retreat Center. She brought a much-needed sense of warmth and beauty during her time at the center as well as her administrative and pastoral skills. Later, she took on the additional ministry of working with those in the Diaconate Formation Program for the Diocese of Boise. After her many years in Boise, she returned to California and served as Director of Development at St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish in Santa Clara. Once again, her many skills in administration and her ability to bring her special touch and warmth was appreciated.
Grayce was friendly and enjoyed people, but she was also a private and quiet person. Her family was very important to her, and she loved talking about them. She enjoyed crafts and would make very pretty cards for people and lovely flower arrangements for chapels. We remember Grayce for her warm smile, her love of beauty and for her ever-present hair bow. We are grateful for her love of beauty, for her dedication to our community and for her faith in the promises of our God. May her memory be blessed.
