Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving for the life of Sister Francis Rose Klos. Francis Rose was 92 years old and had been a professed member of our congregation since 1952.
Francis Rose was a dedicated and beloved teacher. She spent almost four decades as a first-grade teacher, a ministry she loved. As a primary teacher she shared an abundance of patience, the ability to think on her feet, a creative mind, a warm heart, just the right touch of no-nonsense, as well as the grace to gently parent young parents. She was well loved in this role. She was a gifted mentor and supporter of teachers and is remembered with gratitude by our sisters who had the pleasure of teaching with her or serving in schools where she was the principal. After leaving the classroom she shared her talents in parish religious education, and she spent several years at Los Gatos providing hospitality and being present with our sisters.
Francis Rose was able to connect with individuals and to bring out their gifts. In her work in parish religious education, she supported a young girl with special needs and over time became a life-long friend to this now grown woman. When she moved to Merrill at Willow Glen, she made friends with isolated residents and advocated for resident needs by serving on the Resident Council. We remember her as a dedicated and loyal friend. She put the needs of others before her own and supported people through their struggles as well as through the good times. She even included cats and dogs in her circle of friends. She was warm, thoughtful, fun, had a delightful sense of humor, and she was generous. Francis Rose was devoted to our community and a woman of deep faith. May her memory be blessed.
