Sister Elizabeth Davis, SNJM departed this life on July 15, 2025 in Santa Clara, California.
Sister Liz celebrated 91 years of life and 70 years of her religious profession.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Holy Spirit Chapel in Campbell, California.
Her burial will take placee at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, California.
Please join us in prayers of thanksgiving for the life of Sister Elizabeth Davis. Liz celebrated her 70th jubilee last year and she was 91 years old.
Liz began her life of ministry in education. She served in schools in both Southern and Northern California as a classroom teacher and then as a principal. Because of her warmth, her natural ability as a leader and her passion for mentoring others, she excelled as a principal and was asked to take on a supervisory role for our schools in California. As a supervisor she guided principals and teachers, supporting them in their ministry as educators while ensuring that our schools were held to high standards.
We remember Liz as a passionate educator and as a leader who helped others develop their own potential. We remember her for her grace, her humor, her love of others and her positive outlook. We remember her compassion and concern for those in need. We celebrate the energy and creativity she shared with us through her writing and storytelling, her paper collages and her baking. We are grateful for her friendship and her ability to create community. We remember her as a woman of faith and as a woman dedicated to our congregation. May her memory be blessed.
