Sister Frances Wink, SNJM departed this life on February 2, 2025 in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Sister Frances celebrated 93 years of life and 72 years of her religious profession.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Names Chapel in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Burial will follow at Holy Names Cemetery in Marylhurst, Oregon.
Sister Frances Wink, SNJM, 93, died on February 2 in Lake Oswego. Mass of Resurrection will be Thursday, March 13, 11 a.m., Chapel of the Holy Names at Marylhurst, Lake Oswego.
The daughter of Peter and Angeline (Murphy) Wink, Frances grew up in Seattle. She joined the Holy Names Sisters in 1951, receiving the religious name Sister Germaine Mary. She spent 29 years teaching high school in Oregon. During this time, she also worked in the Sisters’ Formation Program.
From 1982-97 she moved into parish ministry as Director of Religious Education and a member of the preaching staff at St. James Cathedral, Seattle. Following this, she focused primarily on a spiritual direction ministry accompanying people on their spiritual journeys.
Sister Frances will be remembered for her warm smile and welcoming presence, and as a wise spiritual guide with a deep concern for justice.
A Holy Names Sister for 71 years, Sister Frances is survived by her nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community.
