Sister Eleanore Maloney, SNJM departed this life on June 5, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Gatos, California.
Sister Eleanore celebrated 87 years of life and 66 years of her religious profession.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Chapel in Campbell, California.
Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, California.

Resident of Los Gatos California Sister Eleanore Maloney (Sister Miriam Robert) passed into eternal life on June 5, 2023. Sister Eleanore was 87 years old and celebrated 66 years of religious profession as a Sister of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.
Sister Eleanore entered the Sisters of the Holy Names after completing her sophomore year at Holy Names University. Sister Eleanore ministered in elementary education both as teacher and principal for 23 years in both Northern and Southern California. While Sister Eleanore enjoyed the children she worked with in elementary schools, she found a deeper calling working in parish ministry at Saint Paschal Baylon (Oakland), Saint Cecilia (San Francisco), Saint Bede (Hayward), Good Shepherd (Pacifica) and Saint Joseph (Capitola). She also served in positions within her religious community as Northern California Regional, vocation director and as a retreat team member.
Sister Eleanore treasured her Tomales, California roots growing up on the family ranch, attending Tomales Grammar School and Tomales High School. She delighted in visits with her large and loving Maloney family. Sister Eleanore had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious smile, and often a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. She lived life with simplicity and directness, coupled with a depth of spirituality not quickly obvious. She excelled at building relationships and accepting and enjoying others as they were.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Clare Maloney, brother, Father Robert L. Maloney, SJ and sister, Mary Anne Maloney. She is survived by her brother, Michael (Chris) and Shannon (Jimmy) Antonini, Haley, Giovanni, Dante and Nico, Kevin (Erika) Maloney, Clare, Francis and Edythe, Emily (Fred) Carvajal, Abigail, Rylie and Cole, Sarah Maloney and Lyla, Brian (Erinn) Maloney, Nathan and Marcus, Courtney (Sidney) Cunningham, Aidan, Deacon and Chloe.
