(Sister M. Charles Patrick)
February 15, 1932 – November 10, 2019
Sister Jean was a member of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary since 1953. Her teaching career began in Hochelaga, Quebec and from there to Chicago, Illinois. Jean returned to Windsor area in 1956 and taught at St. Anthony School, St. John School, St. James School, St. Mary’s Academy. For a short stint she worked in a business office for State Electric Co. From there she went to Assumption College School and was Head of the Business Department there, where she was loved by students and teachers alike. After two years of further studies at Regis College in Toronto, Jean asked to be sent as a missionary to Haiti to work with the poor people in that country. Upon her return in 1996, Jean volunteered at the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Windsor. She went to God peacefully in her sleep during the night of November 9/10, 2019. Raised by Aunt and Uncle Eva and Charles Crump, along with her late sister Mavis Freeman. She will be missed by her nephew Steve Freeman (Claudia) and their family, Owen and Peggy Freeman and Michael and Marilyn Freeman, as well as by her many friends and sisters. We are grateful to Ann Hansen and Lila Naud who cared for Jean in her final illness, as well as the staff at Devonshire.
