On December 23, 1928, in Seattle, Washington, John and Martha Cobine Qualley welcomed their second daughter, Carol. Carol was educated at Sacred Heart, Immaculate High School, Holy Names Academy, all in Seattle and graduated from Holy Names Academy, Spokane. After entering the Sisters of the Holy Names in 1947, she continued her education at Marylhurst College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, and later a Master's degree in Music Education and an MRE in Religious Studies, as well as certificates in Clinical Pastoral Education from Tacoma General Hospital.

Departed this life on February 29, 2016 at Devonshire Seniors Residence in Windsor, Ontario. Sister Elizabeth Roberta had celebrated 99 years of life and 79 years of religious profession. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption Parish, McEwan Campus, in Windsor, Ontario. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

Departed this life on February 6, 2016 at Saint Anthony's Convent in San Gabriel, California. Sister Margaret celebrated 72 years of life and 50 years of her religious profession. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on February 15, 2016 at Saint Anthony's in San Gabriel, California. A second Mass of Resurrection was celebrated on February 21, 2016 at Holy Spirit Chapel, Campbell, California. Burial took place on February 22, 2016 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward, California.

Departed this life on February 4, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice, in Albany, NY. Sister Rose Ann had celebrated 72 years of life and 29 years of religious profession as an SNJM. A wake service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel at the Teresian House, Albany, NY where Sister resided for over 8 years. The funeral Mass and burial will take place at a later date.

Departed this life on January 26, 2016 at Marie Rose Center, Mary's Woods, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Sister Louise had celebrated 77 years of life and 58 years of religious profession. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Holy Names, Lake Oswego, Oregon. Burial will take place following the funeral at Holy Names Cemetery, Marylhurst, Oregon.

Elaine Deschane was born November 7, 1934, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Cyrus and Clara Markiewicz Deschane. She was the fourth of eight siblings. She attended elementary schools in Pasco, Washington, graduated from Marycliff High School in Spokane, earned a B.A. in Education from Marylhurst and Holy Names Colleges and an M.A. in English from Seattle University.

Sister Shirley Mallory, SNJM

Shirley Mallory was born June 12, 1925, in Omak Washington, the fourth child of William J. and Mary Fitzgerald Mallory. When she was five years of age, her father and sister, Yvonne, died in an explosion in their home in Omak. Her mother moved with three young children, Bill, Janet and Shirley, to Mansfield, Washington where she studied to qualify for Postmastership, and where Shirley began her formal education, graduating from secondary school there in 1943. Shirley was able to attend Holy Names College in Spokane after graduation, joined the Sisters of the Holy Names in 1945, and continued her studies for a B.A. in Education at Holy Names and Marylhurst Colleges. She later earned an M.A. for Teachers in Art. Shirley pronounced her vows as Sister Justyn Mary in 1947.
