Anne Kathleen Dinneen was born in San Francisco, California on July 13, 1939, the first child of Jeremiah and Julia Dinneen and, with her brother Leo, was “raised in traditional Irish customs and very much a part of the Irish community in San Francisco.” Anne found her parents’ “simple faith an inspiration.”

Departed this life on August 3, 2012 at Marie Rose Center, Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Sister Miriam Philip had celebrated 98 years of life and 78 years of religious profession. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on August 9 at Chapel of the Holy Names, Lake Oswego, Oregon. Burial followed at Holy Names Cemetery, Marylhurst, Oregon.

Sister Jeanne Morin (Sister Carmelle Augusta) was born on March 15, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota, to Auguste and Eugenie Morin, the fourth child in a family of six, of French Canadian heritage. As Jeanne described it, “my mother ran a tight ship. There was a disciplined schedule to our lives, each with our chores, and with standards of behavior which we lived up to or paid an appropriate price! But that does not mean that we did not have fun, too. Mother encouraged creativity, so we loved to ‘put on plays,’ which we created using discarded clothing from Mother’s friends as costumes, even playing Mass and confession at times. Regular family prayers, including the Rosary, were part of our daily lives, and parish services were a highlight of each week.”

Sister Frances Madden (Sr. Anselm Mary) age 93, died at the Marie-Rose Center at Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego on June 6, 2012. She was a vowed member of the Sisters of the Holy Names for 75 years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 22, 2012, at 11:00 am in the Provincial House Chapel.

Esther Sylvia Haslam was born July 7, 1920, in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. She was the third of seven children born to Frederick and Frances Brault Haslam. She graduated from St. Francis Elementary School and St. Mary’s Academy and Toronto Normal School in Windsor, Ontario. She also earned a B.A. in Education from the University of Detroit.

Departed this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Sister Constance had celebrated 70 years of life and 51 years of religious profession. A private prayer service for family, Sisters, and Associates took place on Sunday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Chapel, Albany, NY. The wake took place on Sunday, March 18 from 4-7 p.m. at the Academy of the Holy Names, Upper School. Funeral was on Monday, March 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, Albany, NY.

February 6, 1933–March 9, 2012 (Jersey City, NJ)

The oldest of the four daughters of Marion and Mildred Rogers Zarnowski, Teresa Ann was born February 6, 1933, in Newton, Kansas. Her family moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon, during the Second World War and the children attended Sacred Heart School (now Our Lady of the Lake) where Teresa Ann first became acquainted with the Holy Names sisters. Her father died when she was a sophomore at St. Mary’s Academy, but her brave mother allowed Teresa Ann to enter the Holy Names novitiate right after graduation. She received the name Sister Mildred Ann, made first vows in 1953, and went out to teach music in the Portland Archdiocesan schools, receiving a Bachelors of Music degree along the way from Marylhurst College.

Departed this life on Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Naples, Florida. Sr. George Francis had celebrated 86 years of life and 64 years of religious profession. The visitation for Sr. George was at St. Anne's in Naples, FL, on March 15 with the Funeral Liturgy following. Interment isat Myrtle Hill/Garden of Memories in Tampa, FL. Memorial Mass took place at the Academy of the Holy Names Chapel on March 17.

Funeral Liturgy took place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Convent of the Holy Names, Spokane. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
